Rajasthan Issues Alert for Storms and Rain Across 25 Districts

Jaipur, June 6: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert for storms and rain in 25 districts of Rajasthan. Weather experts warn that severe heat and heatwave conditions may return to western Rajasthan starting June 8. Pre-monsoon activities continue across the state, providing temporary relief from the heat.

Between the evening of June 4 and the morning of June 5, several districts, including Banswara, Bundi, and Bhilwara, received up to three inches of rain. Reports indicate hailstorms in parts of Churu, Hanumangarh, and Bikaner. The recent rainfall and strong winds have led to a significant drop in temperatures, with some areas experiencing a decrease of up to 5 degrees Celsius. Cities like Jaipur, Dausa, Karauli, Dungarpur, and Nagaur recorded daytime temperatures below 35 degrees Celsius.

According to the weather department, storms and rain are expected to continue in various parts of the state for the next two days, after which conditions will gradually dry up starting June 8.

While the rain is expected to provide ongoing relief from the heat, residents are advised to exercise caution during storms and high winds. Despite the weather changes, Phalodi recorded the highest maximum temperature in the state at 42.2 degrees Celsius, while Jodhpur noted the highest minimum temperature at 31.9 degrees Celsius.
