Seven Bangladeshi Nationals Arrested for Illegal Residency in Andheri

Mumbai, June 6: In a significant operation, the Industrial Development Police in Andheri, Mumbai, have arrested seven individuals lacking valid residency documents in India.

According to police reports, all arrested individuals are citizens of Bangladesh and have been residing illegally in Mumbai for an extended period. Initial investigations revealed that they entered India approximately fifteen years ago without proper authorization and have since been working in various localities.

The police’s intelligence and special investigation unit received tips about suspicious individuals seeking employment in the Andheri area. Acting on this information, the police increased surveillance and set up a trap in the area. As soon as the suspects arrived, they were detained for questioning. Upon investigation, it was found that they possessed no valid identification or residency permits.

The arrested group includes four men, two women, and one minor. All individuals have been taken to the police station for further legal proceedings. Authorities are also investigating whether these individuals received assistance from any local person or gang and if others are residing illegally in the city.

During the investigation, it was discovered that these individuals maintained contact with their families back in their home country and regularly communicated with them. The police are now conducting an in-depth inquiry to determine the extent of their network and whether it is part of an organized illegal immigration operation. Officials have stated that further action will be taken once the investigation is complete.

The police also emphasized that their campaign to identify foreign nationals residing illegally in the city will continue, with strict investigations into all suspicious cases. This operation is considered a crucial step for local security.
