Senior BJP Leader Hem Singh Bhadana Passes Away in Alwar

Senior BJP Leader and Former Minister Hem Singh Bhadana Dies at 60

Alwar, February 2: Senior BJP leader and two-time MLA Hem Singh Bhadana, who also served as a cabinet minister in the Vasundhara Raje government, passed away on Monday morning around 7:30 AM at his residence in Alwar. He was 60 years old. The news of his death has brought a wave of grief across Alwar and the Khairthal-Tijara region.

Bhadana had been battling cancer for a long time and recently suffered a brain hemorrhage. He was admitted to a hospital in Gurugram for an extended period following these health complications.

His condition deteriorated suddenly around 6:30 AM on Monday. His family rushed him to a hospital near Telco Chowk in Alwar, where doctors declared him dead after examination. Hospital director Dr. Harish Gupta confirmed that he was brought in already deceased.

Hem Singh Bhadana is survived by his family, including two sons and two daughters. He resided in Veer Savarkar Nagar near the Khatu Shyam Temple in Alwar city. His last rites will be performed in his ancestral village Bhagheri Kala in the Kishangarh Bas assembly constituency, now part of Khairthal-Tijara district. Due to his passing, all BJP programs in Alwar and Khairthal have been postponed.

Born on February 7, 1966, Bhadana completed his LLB from Rajasthan University. He was actively involved in student politics, serving as the president of the Government Arts and Law College student union in Alwar from 1991 to 1992. His political journey progressed when he became the head of the Panchayat Samiti in Kishangarh Bas on February 10, 2005.

He represented the Thanagazi assembly constituency in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, serving as a member from 2008 to 2013 in the 13th Assembly and from 2013 to 2018 in the 14th Assembly. He was known for his outspoken style and straightforward approach during his tenure.

As a minister, Bhadana held several portfolios. On October 28, 2014, he was appointed as the Minister of State with independent charge of the Food and Civil Supplies Department. Later, he was also given charge of Consumer Affairs. In the 2016 cabinet reshuffle, he was assigned the departments of Printing and Stationery, State Motor Garage, and Estate, along with additional responsibility for the General Administration Department.
