
Jaipur, May 14: Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma took a morning stroll in Panseri village, located in Jalore district, on Thursday. During his visit, he interacted with villagers, school children, farmers, and livestock herders. The Chief Minister greeted the locals and inquired about their well-being. He also spoke with children on their way to school, distributing chocolates and candies while encouraging them to focus on their studies for a brighter future.
After his morning walk, CM Sharma held discussions with villagers at the local ‘Chauhta’ (a traditional central meeting place), where residents raised several demands related to local development. He instructed the district collector to take necessary actions on the issues brought up by the villagers.
Accompanying him were Government Chief Whip Jogeshwar Garg, Minister of State for Industry and Commerce KK Bishnoi, local representatives, and district administration officials. Earlier, on Wednesday, the Chief Minister participated in the ‘Gram Vikas Chaupal’ program in Panseri, where he engaged with farmers and livestock herders.
Addressing the villagers, CM Sharma stated that the state government has prepared a roadmap for Rajasthan’s development, aiming to transform the state into an “ideal state.” He emphasized that the government is running the Chief Minister’s Developed Village-Ward Campaign to ensure planned development in every panchayat.
The Chief Minister highlighted that the government prioritizes infrastructure for electricity and water. He mentioned that work has accelerated on major irrigation and water projects, including the Ramjal Setu Link Project, Yamuna Water Agreement, Indira Gandhi Canal Project, Ganga Canal Strengthening Works, and the Mahi and Devas projects.
He noted that the Som-Kamla-Amba project will help channel water to the Jawai Dam, ensuring better water supply for Jalore, Pali, and Sirohi districts.
CM Sharma also shared that farmers in 24 districts currently receive daytime electricity, with plans to extend this service statewide by 2027.
He urged farmers to adopt drip and sprinkler irrigation systems, promote organic farming, and reduce reliance on chemical fertilizers. He encouraged youth to consider agriculture as a sustainable livelihood option.
Highlighting welfare schemes for livestock herders, the CM mentioned initiatives like the ‘Gopal Credit Card Scheme’ and ‘Mangla Livestock Insurance Scheme,’ which benefit farmers across the state.
He announced that the number of milk collection centers will increase under the Chief Minister’s Milk Producers Support Scheme, with subsidies of 5 rupees per liter. Mobile veterinary units have also been deployed for animal healthcare.
Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, CM Sharma stated that the central government is fully committed to farmers’ welfare through initiatives like the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi, bonuses on wheat purchases, and the PM Crop Insurance Scheme.
He also announced that the state government will host the ‘Global Rajasthan AgriTech Meet’ from May 23 to 25. To raise awareness among villagers, the ‘Gram Vikas Rath’ campaign is currently touring across Rajasthan.
During the Chaupal, progressive farmers and livestock herders shared their experiences and expressed gratitude to the government for implementing farmer-focused schemes.
