Chandigarh, June 4: The Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Chandigarh has announced job openings for 64 positions, including Senior Resident, CMO (General Medicine and General Surgery), Resident Anesthetist, and Resident Pathologist.
Eligible candidates will be recruited for a period of 44 days, which may be extended based on the selection committee’s recommendation or until regular staff members are appointed.
The 64 vacancies include 4 in Anesthesia, 1 in Cardiac Anesthesia, 3 in Cardiology, 1 in ENT, 3 in General Medicine, 3 in General Surgery, 1 in Neurology, 2 in Neuro Surgery, 2 in Obstetrics and Gynecology, 1 in Ophthalmology, 3 in Orthopedics, 2 in Pediatrics, 1 in Pulmonary Cardiac Care and Surgical Medicine, 1 in Radio Diagnosis, 2 in Urology, 4 in Emergency Medicine, 2 in Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases, 3 in CTVS, 1 in Endocrinology, 1 in Plastic Surgery, 2 in Nuclear Medicine, 4 in Biochemistry, 1 in Microbiology, 1 in Pathology, 4 in Anatomy, 2 in Community Medicine, 2 in Forensic Medicine, and 2 in Physiology.
Selection for all positions will be based on a walk-in interview and document verification. Selected candidates will receive a monthly salary of ₹67,700, along with additional benefits and allowances.
Candidates attending the interview must possess a postgraduate medical degree (MD/MS/DNB/MCh/DM) or an equivalent degree recognized by the Medical Council of India and registered with the Indian Medical Council or State Medical Council. Candidates who have completed three years of Senior Residency are not eligible for the Senior Resident position.
The maximum age limit for applicants is set at 45 years, calculated as of June 1. Candidates from reserved categories will receive age relaxation as per regulations.
All candidates registering for the interview must pay a prescribed application fee of ₹500.
The walk-in interview will take place on June 5 (Friday) at ‘Branch-II, Block-D, GMCH-32, Chandigarh’. Offline applications will be accepted until 11 AM on the same day, with interviews scheduled for 2 PM. Candidates are advised to arrive on time and bring a hard copy of the completed application form along with original and photocopies of all relevant documents.
