New Delhi, June 4: Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, had to cancel his visit to Almora on Thursday due to adverse weather conditions. His helicopter was unable to land in Almora, forcing him to return to Pantnagar. Following this, he shared a video message on the social media platform X, explaining the situation.
Addressing the people of Uttarakhand, Rahul Gandhi expressed, “My dear brothers and sisters, I wanted to meet you all today, to sit among you and listen to your stories, understand your joys and sorrows, and grasp your hopes and concerns. Unfortunately, due to the bad weather, that was not possible. I arrived in Pantnagar this morning, and we were supposed to fly to Almora for a public meeting, but the pilot refused to take off due to the unfavorable conditions.”
He mentioned that he had many important discussions planned regarding the current situation in Uttarakhand, the state’s economic and social issues, and the challenges facing the region. There was also a significant meeting scheduled with ex-servicemen in Pauri Garhwal, along with a visit to Deepak’s gym in Kotdwar.
Rahul Gandhi emphasized that we must all remain humble in the face of nature and that safety for travelers cannot be compromised. He acknowledged that sometimes circumstances do not align with our wishes, but this does not diminish the desire to connect with the people.
He concluded by promising, “I assure you that I will return to Uttarakhand very soon. When I do, we will take our time to meet, talk, listen to your thoughts, and discuss a better future for the state. A meeting will happen soon.”
