New Delhi, February 23: Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) witnessed significant unrest on Sunday night, as clashes erupted between ABVP and leftist supporters. The situation escalated with both sides engaging in stone-pelting for an extended period. Central Minister Giriraj Singh has commented on the incident, stating that JNU has become a center for urban Naxal activities.

In a conversation in New Delhi, Singh asserted that JNU has transformed into a hub for urban Naxalism, a trend supported by successive governments, including those led by the Indian National Congress and leftist parties over the years.

The minister emphasized that the activities occurring at JNU resemble those associated with urban Naxalism. He clarified that this issue is not merely about the ABVP; students who do not conform to the communist ideology are reportedly subjected to violence.

Singh also addressed Rahul Gandhi, questioning what more can be said about him. He referenced comments made by Himanta Biswa Sarma, suggesting that the shirtless protest by Youth Congress workers at the AI summit, allegedly directed by Gandhi, was against national interests and should not be tolerated.

He condemned the actions taken at the AI summit, which he claims were inspired by Gandhi, stating that there is widespread condemnation of these actions. However, he noted that there seems to be no remorse within the Congress ranks. Singh expressed concern that Rahul Gandhi might even appear in a vest during the next parliamentary session.

He concluded by suggesting that a brain mapping of Rahul Gandhi should be conducted, as he is facing criticism both within and outside the Congress party. Singh reiterated that Sarma’s statements regarding Gandhi are indeed accurate.
