Chardham Yatra suspended

Dehradun, 1 September (Kiran News). In view of continuous heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand, the state government has extended the suspension of the Chardham Yatra, including the Hemkund Sahib pilgrimage, until 5 September 2025.

Chardham Yatra suspended

Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey stated on Monday that frequent landslides and debris flow due to heavy rainfall are disrupting routes across the state. While the government is making efforts to clear these roads on priority, the safety and convenience of pilgrims remain paramount. Therefore, the Chardham and Hemkund Sahib Yatra will remain suspended until 5 September 2025. He appealed to all travelers not to embark on these pilgrimage routes during adverse weather conditions and to follow the administration’s advisories. The yatra will resume only after the weather improves and all routes are declared completely safe.

Commissioner Pandey also mentioned that the state government and local administration are taking all necessary measures for monitoring road conditions, clearing debris, and ensuring the safety of pilgrims. Travelers are requested to remain patient and cooperative, and to contact the administrative control room for the latest updates regarding the yatra.
