Baramati, May 13: A training aircraft has crashed once again in Baramati, Maharashtra, raising serious concerns about safety protocols. On Wednesday, a training aircraft from Redbird Company suddenly went down near Gojubavi village.
The incident caused panic in the area, prompting a large number of locals to rush to the crash site. Authorities, including police and rescue teams, arrived promptly.
Initial reports indicate that the aircraft was on a routine training flight when it experienced a technical failure or lost control. However, the exact cause of the crash has yet to be determined. Fortunately, the trainee pilot aboard is reported to be safe. Local residents assisted in rescue efforts and alerted the authorities immediately.
Eyewitnesses stated that the aircraft was flying at a low altitude when it suddenly lost balance and fell into the fields. The crash produced a loud noise, instilling fear in nearby villages. The aircraft was completely destroyed, but there are no reports of significant casualties. Police have cordoned off the area and have begun investigating the aircraft’s documentation.
This incident has reignited concerns about the safety measures at flight training institutions operating in Baramati. Facilities like Redbird and Carver Aviation train a large number of pilots, but the frequency of such accidents has heightened local apprehensions.
It is worth noting that the Gojubavi area has previously been in the spotlight due to aircraft accidents. Earlier, a plane carrying Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar also crashed nearby. Additionally, another training aircraft from Redbird had met with an accident in the same region. Following these recurring incidents, residents are now calling for stricter safety inspections and monitoring of training aircraft.
