
New Delhi, May 13: Ayub Khan, a senior organizer of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and former MLA from the Kantabanji constituency in Odisha, passed away on Wednesday. His death has elicited deep condolences from prominent leaders, including Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Chandra Majhi, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, and BJD founder Naveen Patnaik. They remembered Khan for his contributions to regional development and public service, extending their sympathies to his grieving family.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan expressed his sorrow on the social media platform X, stating, “I am deeply saddened to hear about the demise of former Kantabanji MLA Ayub Khan. His contributions to politics and social service will always be unforgettable. I offer my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family while praying for the eternal peace of the departed soul. Om Shanti.”
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Chandra Majhi also shared his condolences on X, saying, “I was saddened to learn about the passing of senior leader and former MLA Ayub Khan from Kantabanji. He will always be remembered as an experienced public representative. In this time of grief, I extend my deepest sympathies to his family and pray for the peace of his departed soul.”
Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida expressed her sorrow on X, stating, “I am deeply saddened to hear about the demise of former Kantabanji MLA Ayub Khan. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the grieving family and well-wishers and pray for the eternal peace of his soul.”
Naveen Patnaik, the BJD chief and former Chief Minister, wrote on X, “I am very saddened to learn about the passing of senior organizer and former MLA Ayub Khan from Kantabanji. The party has lost a skilled organizer and a compassionate leader. His work for regional development and public service will keep his legacy alive.”
He further mentioned, “In this time of sorrow, I spoke with his son Dr. Amjad Ali Khan to convey my deepest sympathies to the entire family and prayed for the peace of the departed soul.”
