Dhaka, December 6 (Daily Kiran) – Dengue cases are rising alarmingly across Bangladesh, with 200 new patients admitted to various hospitals in the last 24 hours. The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Emergency Operations Centre reported no deaths related to dengue during this period, offering some relief amid the growing concern.
According to the Dhaka Tribune, the new admissions include 14 patients from Barisal Division (outside city corporation limits), 92 from Chattogram Division (outside city corporation limits), 14 from Dhaka Division (outside city corporation limits), 72 from Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), 6 from Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), and 2 from Khulna Division (outside city corporation limits).
The DGHS confirmed that there have been no dengue-related fatalities reported in the past 24 hours.
So far this year, dengue has infected a total of 96,827 people in Bangladesh, with 394 deaths recorded. Of those infected, 63% are men and 37% are women.
In comparison, the year 2024 saw 101,214 dengue cases and 575 deaths across the country.
