
New Delhi, May 23: The Anti-Auto Theft Squad (AATS) of Shahdara district has apprehended a dangerous habitual criminal. The suspect was involved in stealing two-wheelers, which he used in various robbery and theft incidents. In this operation, four stolen two-wheelers were recovered, solving a total of seven cases.
The arrested individual has been identified as Mo Imran, also known as Chand Nawab, aged 35, a resident of Jafrabad.
On May 22, the AATS team arrested him near Karkardooma Court. A stolen motorcycle was found in his possession.
During interrogation, the suspect admitted to his involvement in multiple vehicle thefts and robberies. Based on his disclosures, three additional stolen two-wheelers were recovered.
The accused revealed that he used stolen vehicles to carry out robberies and thefts. He further disclosed that he collaborated with his accomplice, Waseem, who resides in Brahmapuri, Delhi. Waseem allegedly assisted in disposing of the stolen goods. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the co-accused and recover more stolen property.
Mo Imran was known to steal two-wheelers from various areas in Delhi and then use them for quick getaways after committing crimes. He worked closely with Waseem, who reportedly helped him dispose of the stolen items.
The accused is addicted to drugs and frequently engaged in theft and robbery to fund his addiction. The recovered vehicles and the information revealed during questioning indicate his active role in organized street crime across several districts in Delhi.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajendra Prasad Meena stated that the accused completed his education up to the 10th grade and worked at a chicken shop in Chauhan Bangar, Jafrabad. It was revealed during questioning that his drug addiction led him to engage in vehicle theft, robbery, and looting alongside his accomplice. The accused has previously been implicated in 14 cases of robbery and theft. Further actions are being taken to locate and arrest Waseem, recover additional stolen property, and identify the accused’s other criminal involvements.
