Tragic Fire Claims Lives of Three Children in Madhya Pradesh

New Delhi, May 23: A heartbreaking incident occurred in Sidhi district, Madhya Pradesh, on Saturday. A sudden fire broke out in a home, tragically claiming the lives of three children who were unable to escape. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav expressed his sorrow over the incident.

According to reports, the fire erupted in a mud house located in the Kasihwa village of the Jamodi police station area. The blaze quickly intensified, engulfing the entire structure and trapping the three children inside.

Despite the villagers’ desperate attempts to rescue the children, they were unsuccessful. Local residents attributed the fire to sparking from an electrical line. They reported that power lines ran above the fragile house, and sparks ignited nearby bamboo and dry materials, leading to the rapid spread of flames.

At the time of the incident, the children’s mother had locked the door and stepped out, preventing them from escaping the fire. Fire brigade personnel arrived at the scene, but by then, the three children had already lost their lives. The deceased children were aged between one and six years.

It was noted that their father, Ram Ratan Saket, was away working in the city, while their mother had gone to buy groceries. The tragic loss of the three siblings has cast a pall of grief over the entire village. The bodies have been sent to the hospital for post-mortem examinations.

In response to the incident, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav took notice and posted on the social media platform X, expressing his condolences. He described the news of the children’s deaths due to a short circuit in Kasihwa village as extremely tragic and heart-wrenching. He extended his sympathies to the grieving families.

Yadav also prayed for peace for the departed souls. The state government announced financial assistance of ₹6 lakh for each victim’s family, along with an additional ₹20,000 from the District Red Cross Society.
