Lucknow, May 23: The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has announced an official notification inviting applications for 722 vacancies for Excise Constables under the 2026 main examination. These positions fall under the control of the Excise Commissioner’s office in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.
Out of the 722 vacancies, there are 612 posts for Excise Constables and 110 posts for Special Selection Excise Constables. The 612 Excise Constable positions include 246 unreserved, 128 for Scheduled Castes, 12 for Scheduled Tribes, 165 for Other Backward Classes, and 61 for the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS). The 110 Special Selection Excise Constable posts comprise 46 for Scheduled Castes, 14 for Scheduled Tribes, and 50 for Other Backward Classes.
The online application process will commence on June 4 and will close on June 24. Eligible candidates wishing to apply for the Excise Constable positions can complete their registration on the commission’s official portal before the deadline. Additionally, a correction window for applicants who make mistakes while filling out the application form will be available until July 1.
Candidates must have passed the Intermediate examination from the Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Council or an equivalent examination recognized by the government. It is also mandatory for candidates to have appeared in and passed the Preliminary Eligibility Test-2025 (PET-2025) with a valid scorecard.
The minimum age for applicants is set at 18 years, while the maximum age is capped at 40 years. Candidates from reserved categories will receive age relaxation as per regulations. All applicants must pay a processing fee of ₹25 online while filling out the application form.
Selection of eligible candidates will be based on standardized scores from the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET-2025), followed by the main written examination, physical standards, physical efficiency tests, and merit lists. Selected candidates will receive a monthly salary ranging from ₹19,900 to ₹63,200.
