Kangra, May 23: The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, organizes the ‘Sunday on Cycle’ program every Sunday under the Fit India Movement. The Sports Authority of India (SAI) also supports this initiative. The ministry is actively preparing for the Commonwealth Games 2030. Indian wrestler Babita Phogat has arrived in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh, to participate in this event.
Speaking to reporters, Babita Phogat stated, “The Fit India Movement and the cycling initiative are being promoted nationwide. As an athlete, I am here to take part in this important health initiative.”
Babita added, “I have won a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games. Every athlete dreams of winning a medal for their country. It is wonderful that the Commonwealth Games 2030 will be held in Ahmedabad. The sports ministry and SAI have already begun preparations for this event.”
The former wrestler shared her thoughts on the anti-drug campaign, saying, “If you must be addicted to something, why not make it sports? If you are passionate about something, let it be our national flag. Even if this passion leads to challenges, it will be a success that brings pride to our country.”
The ‘Sunday on Cycle’ program aims to raise awareness about fitness among youth and is also part of the campaign against obesity. Additionally, it promotes environmental conservation.
