New Delhi, September 21 (Daily Kiran News): Apple has officially released its latest desktop operating system, macOS Tahoe 26, alongside iOS 26 and iPadOS 26. The update is available as a free download for all M-series Macs and select Intel models, including the 2019 Mac Pro and 2020 MacBook Pro.

Refreshed Interface with Liquid Glass

The most noticeable upgrade comes in the form of Liquid Glass, Apple’s new design style. It introduces translucent windows, refreshed icons, and smoother animations, giving the Mac desktop a lighter, more modern feel without a complete redesign.

Smarter Spotlight

Spotlight search has been enhanced with powerful new features. Users can now send messages, run Siri Shortcuts, open apps side by side, and access cloud storage services such as Google Drive and OneDrive directly from Spotlight.

Gaming Hub and Metal 4

Apple is also signaling a stronger push into gaming. The update introduces an Apple Games hub, which consolidates titles from different stores and Apple Arcade. A new in-game overlay supports quick messaging and settings, while a battery-saver mode optimizes performance for longer laptop gaming sessions.

At the core is Metal 4, Apple’s latest graphics framework. Its MetalFX upscaling uses AI to generate additional frames—similar to Nvidia’s DLSS—ensuring smoother gameplay in demanding titles.

Other Improvements

Users will also see more customizable quick settings, inspired by iPhone’s Control Center, making everyday navigation easier and more flexible.

With macOS Tahoe 26, Apple balances style and performance—offering a fresh design, productivity tools, and a stronger gaming focus—while extending support to select Intel Macs to reach a broader user base.
