Mumbai, April 26: Nothing has initiated the rollout of the Nothing OS B4.1-260414-1846 update for the Nothing Phone (3). This update introduces a blend of new AI features, interface enhancements, and system fixes, along with the April 2026 security patch.
The highlight of this update is the Essential Voice feature, a speech-to-text tool integrated into the keyboard. Users can activate it by tapping the keyboard icon or long-pressing the Essential key. This feature aims to streamline dictation by eliminating filler words and repeated phrases, while also accommodating corrections made during speech. It can recognize when a user intends to translate text and insert the translated version directly. Additionally, users can save frequently used phrases, such as email addresses, through voice commands. The system can format spoken input into lists, steps, or bullet points when it detects such structures.
On the interface front, Nothing has introduced a new lock screen clock face. This design, which first appeared in the Phone (3a) Community Edition, was developed in collaboration with community member Jad Zock. It features a custom typeface and an engaging wake-up animation.
Another notable addition is the Live Updates feature, allowing users to track real-time activity from supported apps like Google Maps. This information can be displayed on the lock screen, in the notification panel, and on the Glyph Interface, depending on the app and region.
The update also brings improvements to notifications. The Essential Notifications settings page now boasts a cleaner layout with clearer descriptions. The system can suggest which notifications should be marked as essential based on user behavior.
Moreover, the update addresses several fixes. eSIM setup instructions have been clarified, and video calls on certain third-party apps are expected to run more smoothly with reduced stuttering. Issues affecting the notification panel and Quick Settings have also been resolved. Nothing reports that overall system stability has been enhanced.
This update is being rolled out in phases, so users who have not yet received it should expect a notification in the coming days.
