Health Camps and OPDs Established Along Char Dham Yatra Routes

Rishikesh, April 26: Special Duty Officer Prajapati Nautiyal announced on Sunday that transit camps have been set up along the Char Dham Yatra routes for the health check-ups of pilgrims. Additionally, Outpatient Departments (OPDs) have been established on the routes leading to the holy sites.

This year, the Char Dham Yatra commenced on April 19 with the opening of the Yamunotri and Gangotri temples. The Kedarnath and Badrinath temples opened on April 22 and 23, respectively.

Speaking to reporters, Nautiyal urged pilgrims to carefully read and understand the health advisories issued by the health department. He emphasized that all pilgrims should review this advice before starting their journey and plan accordingly. If they experience symptoms such as dizziness, chest pain, or headaches, they should seek appropriate health checks or consult the medical teams available at the OPDs along the routes.

Regarding the transit camps, Nautiyal mentioned that five health teams are stationed there. Pilgrims over the age of 50 can have their blood pressure and sugar levels checked.

Furthermore, he noted that the OPD facilities are available where pilgrims can obtain necessary medications properly.

According to the data received so far, over 1,000 pilgrims have undergone health checks at the camps and benefited from the OPD services.

The official also stated that arrangements have been made for the rest of the pilgrims at various locations along the travel routes, allowing them to take breaks as needed. He stressed that special preparations have been made considering the weather and terrain of the routes chosen by the pilgrims.
