
Chennai, April 26: The Gujarat Titans (GT) triumphed over the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 8 wickets in the 37th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 on Sunday. With this victory, GT climbed to the fifth position in the points table, while CSK slipped to sixth place.
Batting first after losing the toss at MA Chidambaram Stadium, CSK managed to score 158 runs, losing 7 wickets in the process. The team struggled early, losing 4 wickets for just 37 runs. However, Shivam Dube steadied the innings with Ruturaj Gaikwad, forming a partnership of 59 runs off 43 balls for the fourth wicket.
Dube scored 22 runs off 17 balls, hitting 4 boundaries before being dismissed. Gaikwad then added 26 runs with Karthik Sharma (15) and 21 runs with Jamie Overton (18) to help the team reach a competitive total.
From the opposition, Kagiso Rabada was the standout bowler, claiming 3 wickets, while Arshad Khan took 2. Mohammad Siraj and Manav Suthar each picked up 1 wicket.

Sudharsan then partnered with Jos Buttler for the second wicket, adding 97 runs off 60 balls to secure the win. Buttler remained unbeaten on 39 runs off 30 balls, hitting 1 six and 4 fours. Akil Hussain and Noor Ahmad each took 1 wicket for the opposing team.
