Hyderabad, April 26: The Telangana government has decided to extend the Prajavani public grievance redressal initiative to grassroots levels across the state. Chief Minister A. Revant Reddy has instructed officials to prioritize the implementation of this system for addressing citizens’ petitions and complaints.
During a meeting held at the MCHRD Institute in Hyderabad, the Chief Minister directed Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao and officials from the Chief Minister’s Office to bring Prajavani services closer to the public. This initiative aims to relieve citizens from the burden of traveling to Hyderabad and district headquarters for resolving their grievances.
CM Revant Reddy emphasized that Prajavani services should first be launched at the revenue division level, followed by expansion at the mandal level. He ordered senior officials to develop an administrative framework, ensuring that officers at all levels are available to address complaints and issues received through Prajavani.
The Chief Minister reminded attendees that he launched Prajavani shortly after taking office on December 8, 2023, with the goal of swiftly resolving public grievances. Since then, successful Prajavani sessions have been held every Tuesday and Friday at the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Praja Bhavan in Hyderabad.
Officials from all government departments have been directly receiving applications and petitions from the public, taking immediate action on them. Additionally, Prajavani programs are organized weekly at the district level under the supervision of the District Collector.
Special directives have been issued mandating that each complaint submitted by citizens be formally registered, forwarded to the relevant departments, and that applicants are informed about the status of their applications.
The Chief Minister stressed the need for all departments to establish deadlines for resolving public grievances. An integrated digital platform for the registration, monitoring, and resolution of complaints should be developed. A real-time monitoring system will also be established at both district and state levels.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister has directed the appointment of dedicated nodal officers for Prajavani services at each administrative level. Special Prajavani wings will also be established in every district and government department.
A self-resolution system will be implemented, allowing complaints that are not resolved at one level to be automatically escalated to higher authorities. An appeals mechanism will also be initiated if necessary.
CM Revant Reddy warned against any compromise in the grievance redressal process and mandated regular review meetings at both district and state levels. Officials have been instructed to pay special attention to pending complaints and monitor the progress of grievance resolution through a dashboard. Any delays in resolving complaints will hold the responsible officers accountable.
The Chief Minister emphasized that decentralizing Prajavani services will reduce the burden on state and district-level centers. He highlighted the importance of carefully implementing Prajavani services to build trust and confidence among the public.
