Mumbai, April 26: Fitbit has begun rolling out a significant update to its app, transforming the functionality of its personal health coach. This update enhances fitness plans, coaching, daily insights, and sleep tracking. It is part of the latest app version, with some features currently in Public Preview testing.
For Premium users, the standout addition is personalized weekly fitness plans. These plans establish targets based on individual goals and recommend workouts accordingly. During the Public Preview phase, the system can modify recommendations based on user feedback. Fitbit is also introducing the ability to edit plans, targets, and workouts, which is expected to be available next week.
The coaching experience has received an upgrade as well. Recommended workouts now include step-by-step instructions, allowing users to follow sessions more easily. The “Ask Coach” feature has been enhanced, enabling users to interact in a more natural manner to check their progress or receive suggestions.
Changes have also been made to the “Today” tab. Users will now receive updates at various times throughout the day, including a morning check-in, a summary post-workout, and an end-of-day recap. Weekly progress summaries will also be introduced, aiming to provide users with regular updates without the need to search for information.
Sleep tracking is another aspect of this update. Fitbit has started rolling out a redesigned Sleep Score, which offers a clearer breakdown of how the score is calculated, making it easier for users to understand their sleep patterns.
The rollout will be gradual and may vary by region, device, and app version. Premium users will have access to the weekly plans, while Public Preview users will experience the new coaching features first. Additional updates, including guided workouts and daily insights, will continue to be released over the coming weeks.
