Tributes Pour In for Bharatendu Harishchandra on His Birth Anniversary

New Delhi, September 9 (Daily Kiran) : On September 9, leaders across India paid tribute to Bharatendu Harishchandra, revered as the father of modern Hindi literature, on his birth anniversary. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, alongside various central ministers and chief ministers, commemorated the occasion with heartfelt messages.

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari expressed his reverence on social media, stating, “I humbly salute Bharatendu Harishchandra, the creator of modern Hindi literature.”

Om Birla highlighted the significance of Harishchandra’s contributions, writing, “On the birth anniversary of this pathbreaking author, who linked Hindi language and literature with modern consciousness, national pride, and social concerns, I offer my heartfelt respects. His literary works continue to inspire pride in our language, responsibility towards society, and dedication to our nation.”

Another central minister, Manohar Lal, shared a quote emphasizing the importance of one’s native language, reflecting on Harishchandra’s unique contributions to the development of Hindi literature. He stated, “I bow to the great poet and creator who made unparalleled contributions to the progress of our country and society.”

Pankaj Chaudhary, the BJP president in Uttar Pradesh, also paid tribute, noting Harishchandra’s role in enriching Hindi literature and fostering national consciousness and cultural pride.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath remembered Harishchandra as a significant figure who not only enriched the Hindi language but also ignited a sense of national pride and awareness of one’s mother tongue. His legacy continues to inspire the protection of our languages, culture, and national identity.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma acknowledged Harishchandra’s invaluable contributions to Hindi literature, stating that his ideas and works still enrich our cultural consciousness.

Haryana’s Chief Minister Nayab Saini echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing Harishchandra’s dedication to the service of the mother tongue and the nation. He noted that Harishchandra’s timeless creations inspire vigilance and dedication to language and national identity.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav also paid his respects, honoring Harishchandra for instilling modern consciousness and national pride through his writings. He remarked that Harishchandra’s contributions to Hindi literature will always be remembered.

Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya praised Harishchandra as a pioneer of modern Hindi literature and theater, recognizing his significant impact on the development of Hindi and its cultural landscape. His works continue to awaken a sense of awareness, pride, and national consciousness in society.
