New Delhi, September 9 (Daily Kiran) : On September 9, the nation paid tribute to Captain Vikram Batra, a hero of the Kargil War and recipient of the Param Vir Chakra, on his birth anniversary. From Home Minister Amit Shah to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and several chief ministers, leaders remembered the indomitable spirit and sacrifice of the ‘Sher Shah.’
Amit Shah expressed his reverence on social media, stating, “On the birth anniversary of Param Vir Chakra winner Captain Vikram Batra, I pay my respects. In the Kargil War, he not only captured strategically crucial peaks but also uplifted the morale of his fellow soldiers with his unique leadership and bravery. The life of this ‘Sher Shah,’ who sacrificed his life for the motherland at just 24, will continue to inspire everyone to prioritize national interest.”
Speaker Om Birla remarked, “On the birth anniversary of Captain Vikram Batra, who made the ultimate sacrifice with unwavering patriotism and unmatched valor on the icy peaks of Kargil, I bow in reverence. His courage will always inspire future generations.”
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari also paid homage, stating, “I humbly salute Captain Vikram Batra, the Kargil War hero and Param Vir Chakra awardee, on his birth anniversary.”
Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan honored Batra’s legacy, saying, “On the birth anniversary of Captain Vikram Batra, who displayed extraordinary valor in the Kargil War, I bow in reverence. The sacred land of Bharat Mata is protected by the valor of heroes like you. Your immortal saga will inspire future generations to serve and protect the motherland.”
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath offered his tribute, saying, “I humbly pay my respects to the immortal hero of Kargil, Captain Vikram Batra, who sacrificed his life for the motherland. His valor on the peaks of Kargil will always evoke the spirit of nationalism and bravery in every Indian. Jai Hind!”
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav noted, “I respectfully honor Captain Vikram Batra, the Kargil War hero and Param Vir Chakra awardee, on his birth anniversary. He made the ultimate sacrifice with unmatched courage and dedication to his duty. His commitment and love for the nation will always inspire citizens.”
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami remarked, “On the birth anniversary of Captain Vikram Batra, a symbol of patriotism, courage, leadership, and duty, I bow in reverence. Your supreme sacrifice and extraordinary bravery will continue to inspire us to serve the nation.”
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said, “On the birth anniversary of Captain Vikram Batra, the Kargil War hero and symbol of valor, I pay my respects. His supreme sacrifice for the protection of the motherland will always inspire future generations towards national service and patriotism.”
Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary echoed similar sentiments, stating, “On the birth anniversary of Captain Vikram Batra, the brave warrior of the Kargil War and Param Vir Chakra winner, I bow in reverence. His unmatched courage and supreme sacrifice for the motherland will always inspire the people of our nation.”
