Paris, October 2 (Daily Kiran) : An official investigation into the controversy surrounding a visit to the Eiffel Tower has concluded that the Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) did not demand the removal of female employees from the site. This finding comes in the wake of allegations that during a private trip, female staff were asked to leave the premises.
Following the investigation, BAPS expressed concern for the affected employees. The organization clarified that it never made any requests to conceal or remove female staff during the visit. The investigation corroborated this assertion, confirming that there were no such demands made by BAPS.
From the outset, BAPS has maintained that it did not ask for any female employees to be hidden or removed from the site. The inquiry reaffirmed that BAPS did not request the removal of women from the visit route or their absence from the area.
BAPS hopes this clarification will foster a better understanding of the circumstances surrounding the incident and encourage all involved to move forward with mutual respect.
The controversy emerged in September when approximately 100 members of BAPS undertook a private tour for a temple inauguration ceremony in the outskirts of Paris. During this event, Eiffel Tower staff staged a strike, alleging that female employees were removed from the premises during the delegation’s visit.
In response to the allegations, BAPS clarified that the private visit was organized in coordination with the monument’s management. It was scheduled just before the general opening hours to minimize disruption for other tourists.
In a statement posted on the social media platform X, BAPS emphasized that no one was denied entry to the Eiffel Tower. They also extended apologies to anyone who may have felt hurt or inconvenienced by the incident.
BAPS stated that they take the raised concerns seriously and respect them. Given the large size of their delegation, arrangements for the visit were made in collaboration with the Eiffel Tower management to ensure minimal inconvenience. According to their information, no one was denied entry at any time. Nevertheless, they expressed heartfelt apologies for any distress caused or inconvenience experienced, reaffirming their commitment to universal values of mutual respect and service.
