Leaders Pay Tribute to Bharatendu Harishchandra on His Birth Anniversary

New Delhi, September 9 (Daily Kiran) : Central Home Minister Amit Shah, along with BJP National President Nitin Naveen and several other central ministers, paid tribute to Bharatendu Harishchandra, a pioneer of modern Hindi literature, on his birth anniversary.

Amit Shah expressed his respect on social media, stating, “I pay homage to Bharatendu Harishchandra on his birth anniversary. He infused modernity into Hindi through his emotions, language, and style. His works reflect devotion to God, a consciousness for social reform, support for women’s education, and an inspiration for independence. Bharatendu understood that a nation’s identity is rooted in its language and culture. He regarded his native language not just as a means of communication but as a foundation for national self-respect and consciousness.”

Nitin Naveen also shared his thoughts online, saying, “On the birth anniversary of Bharatendu Harishchandra, a towering figure of modern Hindi literature and a vibrant carrier of national consciousness, I offer my humble tribute. Through his literature, journalism, and social awareness, he gave new direction to the Hindi language and ignited a national awakening in society. His contributions are a priceless heritage of Indian literature and culture, inspiring us to move forward with dedication to our language, culture, and nation.”

Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan wrote, “I bow to Bharatendu Harishchandra, the father of modern Hindi literature, on his birth anniversary! Your unique talent has given Hindi a stature that an entire era is associated with your name. You will always be remembered as the creator of modern Hindi.”

Law and Justice Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal noted, “Without knowledge of one’s own language, there can be no progress. Bharatendu Harishchandra, the greatest poet and creator, made unparalleled contributions to the development of the nation and society through his works. I respectfully honor him on his birth anniversary.”

Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha remarked, “On the birth anniversary of Bharatendu Harishchandra, the father of modern Hindi literature and a versatile genius, I pay my deepest respects. His timeless works will continue to inspire writers and energize readers for generations.”

Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Jitan Ram Manjhi also expressed his tribute, stating, “I pay my respects to Bharatendu Harishchandra, the father of modern Hindi literature and a path-breaking writer.”

Rajya Sabha member and BJP National General Secretary Vinod Tawde emphasized, “Bharatendu Harishchandra inspired the nation with the mantra ‘the native language is the root of all progress.’ His timeless works continue to guide humanity. I pay homage to the pioneer of modern Hindi literature on his birth anniversary.”
