Mumbai, March 13: The three-day All India Representative Assembly meeting of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) commenced on Friday at the Madhav Srishti campus. The event was inaugurated at 9 AM by Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat and General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale, who offered floral tributes to the portrait of Bharat Mata. Approximately 1,400 representatives from across the country are participating in the meeting.
In a press conference, General Secretary C.R. Mukund shared that the response from society to the centenary year programs has been incredibly inspiring. He noted that the goodwill of the community has significantly boosted the morale of the volunteers. The centenary celebrations began on October 2, 2025, in Nagpur, in the presence of former President Ram Nath Kovind and Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat. A day prior, the Indian government issued a commemorative postage stamp and coin in honor of the RSS.
Mukund outlined two main objectives for the centenary year: expanding the organization and uniting the community’s goodwill for harmony and togetherness. As part of the ongoing home contact campaign, outreach has reached over 10 crore households and 390,000 villages across several states, with efforts continuing in other regions.
Notably, the outreach has been conducted without bias towards any class or community. For instance, in Kerala, volunteers engaged with over 55,000 Muslim families and more than 54,000 Christian families, who warmly welcomed and honored the volunteers.
So far, 37,048 Hindu conferences have been organized nationwide, attracting around 35 million participants. These conferences have taken place in cities, villages, tribal areas, and remote regions. In a remote area of Arunachal Pradesh, attendees expressed feeling a sense of warmth for the first time. Through these conferences, messages promoting social harmony, environmental conservation, pride in indigenous culture, strengthening family structures, and awareness of civic duties are being conveyed.
C.R. Mukund also mentioned that discussions with prominent citizens have been held. Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat has personally engaged with people in four major cities and several state capitals, answering over 1,000 questions in programs that lasted more than 20 hours.
Regarding the expansion of RSS activities, he noted that in the past year, work has commenced in 3,943 new locations. The number of branches has increased from 51,740 to 55,683, with the total number of branches rising from 83,129 to 88,949. This means 5,820 new branches have been established in just one year. The RSS aims to establish more branches in villages and towns to foster positive societal change.
The organization welcomed government efforts for peace and development in Naxal-affected areas. There was also satisfaction expressed over the restoration of peace in Manipur, along with appreciation for the role of volunteers there. Concerns were raised about the situation of Hindus in Bangladesh, with hopes for improvement soon.
At the beginning of the meeting, tributes were paid to several prominent personalities who have passed away, including Satguru Das Maharaj, Dr. Madhav Gadgil, Shivraj Patil, Salumarada Thimakka, K.N. Dixit, Ajit Pawar, Dharmendra, A.V.M. Saravanan, Swaraj Kaushal, Vinay Hegde, R. Nallakannu, and Praful Govind Baruah.
The centenary celebrations will continue with various activities until October 2026. The RSS aims to unite the community’s goodwill to contribute to nation-building. Present at the press conference were All India Co-Press Chief Narendra Thakur, Pradeep Joshi, and other officials.
