He posted a video of the temple on the social media platform X, stating, “The holy temple of Shri Malayanath Swami Ji, located in Didihat, Pithoragarh district, is a remarkable confluence of faith, spirituality, and rich cultural heritage.”

He further added, “Dedicated to Lord Shiva, this ancient temple is recognized for its historical significance, religious importance, and breathtaking natural surroundings. If you visit Pithoragarh district, make sure to visit this sacred temple. It is a major attraction for both devotees and tourists.”

The Shri Malayanath Swami Temple, also known as the Sirakot Temple, is a highly revered and legendary shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva. This ancient temple was established by the Chand or Raika kings.

Situated at a considerable altitude, the temple offers stunning views of lush valleys and the majestic Himalayan peaks, including Panchachuli and Nanda Devi. Nearby, there is a cave featuring naturally formed stone figures that devotees worship as representations of Lord Shiva and Sheshnag.

This temple is not only significant from a religious perspective but also symbolizes local culture, folklore, and historical heritage. Each year, a large number of devotees and tourists visit to experience its spiritual ambiance and natural beauty, making it one of the prominent religious sites in the Kumaon region. The local community holds deep faith in this place, which is also recognized as a major tourist destination where visitors often come for peace and meditation.
