Congress Slams Minister, Demands Apology
Congress leader and Leader of Opposition Tikaram Jully posted the viral video on social media and launched a scathing attack on the BJP. In his statement, Jully wrote, “A cabinet minister of the BJP government in Rajasthan, Hemant Meena, is seen carrying the national flag upside down during a Tiranga Yatra just before Independence Day. This is not only an insult to our national flag but also an affront to the pride of our nation.”
Calling the act shameful and condemnable, Jully further added, “The minister who disrespected the tricolour must apologise to the people. How much more will Rajasthan have to tolerate?”
Minister Failed to Notice Mistake
The rally began from the Municipal Council premises and concluded at Nakoda Nagar after covering a distance of about three kilometres. Shockingly, despite holding the flag incorrectly, Minister Meena appeared unaware of the mistake, and neither did people around him point it out. However, the opposition took notice and raised the issue publicly.
The BJP has launched Tiranga rallies across the country as part of its celebrations for Independence Day, but this incident has cast a shadow over the campaign in Rajasthan.
