Dehradun, April 10: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a comprehensive review meeting with all departments regarding preparations for the Char Dham Yatra. He emphasized that the safety of pilgrims is the utmost priority.
CM Dhami informed that in a high-level meeting at the secretariat, officials were directed to make the Char Dham Yatra more organized, safe, clean, and technologically empowered. He instructed that the ‘Green and Clean Char Dham Yatra’ initiative, which began last year, should be implemented more effectively this time. Strict action will be taken against anyone spreading misleading news or rumors about the Yatra. Additionally, he urged the promotion of the ‘Vocal for Local’ initiative in line with Prime Minister Modi’s vision.
Officials were instructed to strictly adhere to the established SOPs for helicopter services, ensuring regular maintenance and fitness checks for all helicopters. It is essential to guarantee that there is no shortage of gas, petrol, diesel, and other necessary items along the travel routes. The number and facilities of medical units and veterinary hospitals along the routes should also be increased.
To enhance the online registration system, additional booths will be set up at crowded registration centers, and the digital process will be simplified for ease of access.
He reiterated that the safety of travelers is the highest priority. Special attention is being given to all aspects, including food, water, transportation, security, and flood control, to ensure a smooth and hassle-free journey for pilgrims.
Regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit, CM Dhami noted that the Prime Minister has a deep connection with Uttarakhand. Under his leadership, several significant initiatives have progressed in the state, including the management of AIIMS and the inauguration of a new AIIMS. As the Prime Minister visits Uttarakhand again, we are prepared to give him a warm welcome.
Dhami also announced that the Delhi-Dehradun express train will soon commence operations, providing significant convenience for people traveling between Delhi and Uttarakhand.
