Kolkata, May 12: Following the formation of the new government in West Bengal, Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has ordered investigations into several cases to uncover past incidents. In this context, West Bengal Minister Dilip Ghosh has labeled TMC leaders as corrupt and has directed that all closed cases be reopened for investigation.
Dilip Ghosh stated, “All TMC leaders and ministers are corrupt. Previously, investigations could not proceed due to a lack of police permission. Now, all cases will be reopened, and each one will be thoroughly investigated. What the public desires will happen because we listen to the people’s concerns.”
In response to Congress’s protests regarding Prime Minister Modi’s remarks about reduced purchases of petrol and gold, Ghosh remarked that Congress members continuously make statements, yet the party has lost its relevance in the country. He added that their standing in West Bengal has deteriorated significantly.
Regarding Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Ghosh commented, “Congress is questioning what the Prime Minister will say. There is no presence of Congress in Bengal; what purpose do their leaders serve here? Why do they need vehicles? Congress leaders do not even meet the public; they only engage in politics from their offices.”
He also addressed the rising crude oil prices due to international tensions, particularly between Iran, the U.S., and Israel, which directly affect India’s foreign exchange reserves. In this scenario, he believes the Prime Minister’s emphasis on working from home and resource conservation is a prudent approach. He urged a reduction in petrol and diesel consumption and encouraged the adoption of public transport and carpooling where feasible.
Ghosh noted that India’s situation is currently better compared to other countries. In the U.S., Australia, the U.K., and many European nations, petrol and diesel prices have surged by over 30%, while prices in India remain relatively stable, with no significant gas shortages. However, he stressed the need for continued vigilance.
Regarding the recent Supreme Court hearing on the SIR, Minister Ghosh stated, “Those whose names have been removed have the right to file FIRs. Mistakes can happen anywhere, but this is not a mistake; it has been deliberately done by TMC members.”
After being assigned the Panchayat, Animal Resources, and Agricultural Marketing departments, West Bengal Minister Dilip Ghosh remarked, “I will also take charge of two more departments. It is my duty to fulfill the responsibilities entrusted to me.”
