New Delhi, May 19: Varun Aaron, the bowling coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), has commended young bowlers Praful Hinge and Saqib Hussain for their impressive performances. SRH secured a spot in the playoffs by defeating Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by five wickets at the MA Chidambaram Cricket Stadium on Monday.
Aaron attributed the success of Hinge and Hussain to their eagerness to learn and hard work. Speaking with JioCinema, he stated, “Much of the credit goes to Praful Hinge and Saqib Hussain, as they are both very keen to learn and aim to play for India.”
He added, “When young players have such ambition, dedication and hard work naturally follow. Both have put in significant effort, not just during the tournament but also before the IPL. Our preparation with them began nearly two months before the season. We organized special camps and worked closely on various aspects of their bowling. The most remarkable thing was their readiness to learn, and now they are beginning to see the results of their hard work.”
Saqib Hussain delivered an outstanding bowling performance against CSK, taking two wickets for 34 runs in his four-over spell. He dismissed Urvil Patel and Shivam Dube, sending them back to the pavilion. Meanwhile, Hinge claimed the wicket of Prashant Veer. CSK batted first, scoring 180 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their 20 overs.
However, SRH chased down the target of 181 runs comfortably, finishing at 19 overs with five wickets lost. Ishan Kishan played a crucial role, scoring a powerful 70 runs off 47 balls on a challenging pitch, including seven fours and three sixes. Henrich Klaasen also contributed significantly with 47 runs off 26 balls. With this victory, SRH secured their place in the playoffs, becoming the third team to qualify after Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Titans.
