Mumbai, May 19: BJP leader Kirit Somaiya recently spoke about the removal of encroachments in the impoverished areas of Mumbai. He stated that the Uddhav Sena, along with Rahul Gandhi, AIMIM, and the Muslim League, received a lesson regarding love jihad and land jihad.
Somaiya highlighted that illegal settlers often occupy railway land, disrupting operations and halting development at Bandra railway station. He announced that arrangements have been made to send these encroachers back. Over 700 shanties have already been demolished. He expressed gratitude to the railway administration, Mumbai police, and the municipal corporation for their efforts.
He noted that the operation was completed within three hours, allowing the railway to begin laying new tracks as soon as possible. Somaiya criticized Uddhav Thackeray, claiming he shows no concern for national security. He mentioned that this was his fourth visit to the area in two months, emphasizing that encroachments had caused significant inconvenience to many residents.
Somaiya also reported threats from local goons during the operation and thanked the court and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for their directives. He assured that in the coming days, Bandra would be cleared of encroachers. He warned vote mafias that land jihad, love jihad, and vote jihad would not be tolerated in Maharashtra, West Bengal, or Uttar Pradesh.
On the topic of Bakrid, he vowed that no goats would be slaughtered in residential areas of Mumbai. He pointed out that none of the encroachers have proof of residence prior to 2011. He recalled an incident during Uddhav Thackeray’s tenure when a four-story mosque was constructed in Dharavi, leading to protests from 10,000 people when demolition was attempted. Somaiya concluded by stating that encroachments would be removed gradually.
