
New Delhi, June 3: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic fire incident at a restaurant in Malviya Nagar, Delhi. According to the Prime Minister’s Office, he announced a compensation of ₹2 lakh for the families of each deceased victim and ₹50,000 for the injured.
In his statement, PM Modi said, “The loss of lives in the fire incident in Malviya Nagar is extremely tragic. I extend my heartfelt condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. I wish for the speedy recovery of the injured. The administration is providing all possible assistance to those affected.”
He further stated, “The Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund will provide ₹2 lakh to the families of each deceased victim, and ₹50,000 will be given to the injured.”
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla expressed his condolences on the social media platform X, stating, “The loss of life in the devastating fire accident in Malviya Nagar, Delhi, is deeply saddening. I express my heartfelt sympathy to the families who have lost their loved ones. I pray that the departed souls find peace and that the injured recover swiftly.”
Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor, Tejendra Singh Sandhu, also expressed his grief over the incident. In a post on X, he said, “My condolences and prayers are with the families of the deceased. I wish for the quick recovery of the injured. Police, administration, and fire rescue teams are currently on-site and engaged in relief efforts. I have instructed officials to ensure immediate medical assistance and relief for the victims, as well as to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident.”
BJP MP Naveen Jindal commented on the tragic fire at the restaurant in Malviya Nagar, saying, “The news of the devastating fire is extremely sorrowful. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the families of all those who lost their lives and wish for the swift recovery of all the injured. May God grant the departed souls a place at His feet.”
The fire broke out inside a restaurant in Malviya Nagar on Wednesday morning. So far, at least 20 people have lost their lives, while approximately 37 individuals have been rescued.
