New Delhi, April 14: On the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to Baba Saheb Ambedkar’s significant contributions. In a post on the social media platform ‘X’, PM Modi expressed his respect for Ambedkar.
The post featured a throwback video where PM Modi stated that this day marks a monumental moment in the country’s history. He emphasized that Ambedkar was not just an individual but a symbol of resolve. Baba Saheb linked his life to struggle and fought against societal evils.
He further noted that Ambedkar tirelessly worked to ensure equality and respect for the marginalized, including Dalits and the oppressed, without worrying about his personal dignity. Despite facing humiliation, he never deviated from his path.
The Prime Minister highlighted that since 2014, his government has taken significant steps to carry forward Ambedkar’s inspiration for future generations. They have developed key sites such as Mahu, where he was born, his educational institution in London, the Mahaparinirvana site in Delhi, and the Diksha Bhoomi in Nagpur, collectively known as ‘Panchteerth’. He stated that following Ambedkar’s vision, the country is rapidly transforming the lives of the poor, Dalits, and marginalized communities.
Home Minister Amit Shah also paid homage to Baba Saheb, noting that he laid a strong foundation for Indian democracy by providing equal rights and opportunities through the Constitution. Shah mentioned that Ambedkar firmly opposed Article 370 for the integrity of the nation. He remarked that Ambedkar’s life teaches us that when the resolve is for national service and public welfare, every obstacle becomes insignificant.
Rajya Sabha member Nitish Kumar remembered Ambedkar as the architect of India’s Constitution, a great social reformer, and a champion of social justice. He stated that Ambedkar strengthened social justice, equality, and democratic values through the Constitution. His thoughts and ideals will continue to inspire us in building an inclusive and empowered nation.
Former BJP President JP Nadda also honored Baba Saheb, describing him as a harbinger of social revolution and the architect of the Constitution. He noted that Ambedkar laid a strong foundation for India’s reconstruction based on the values of equality, freedom, and social justice. Nadda added that under PM Modi’s leadership, Baba Saheb’s ideals will continually inspire us towards public service and the creation of a developed India.
