New Delhi, April 14: On the occasion of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s 135th birth anniversary, the Modi Archive shared a detailed post on the social media platform X, emphasizing the profound connection between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Dr. Ambedkar’s ideologies. The post highlighted how PM Modi has consistently dedicated himself to advancing Baba Saheb’s legacy over the years.
The post began by referencing PM Modi’s statement, “If Baba Saheb had not been here, Narendra Modi would not be here.” Modi has repeatedly expressed that his rise from humble beginnings to the position of Prime Minister is possible due to the democratic India and Constitution established by Dr. Ambedkar. He often speaks about his roots in the ‘poor and backward’ classes, viewing this as a testament to the Constitution’s success. According to him, Ambedkar’s greatest legacy is an India where one’s birth does not hinder success, and every citizen has equal opportunities to progress.
The post also elaborated on the ‘Panchteerth,’ five sacred sites associated with Ambedkar’s life, ranging from his birthplace in Mahu to 26 Alipur Road in Delhi and London. PM Modi has ensured the development and modernization of infrastructure at these locations. These sites have been developed so that every generation can come and understand the life and contributions of the great personality who fought for the dignity and rights of millions.
Additionally, the post mentioned the year 2015 when PM Modi declared November 26 as ‘Constitution Day.’ This initiative was taken to promote the values of the Constitution and honor Ambedkar as the principal architect of the Indian Constitution. This day serves as a reminder to every Indian that the Constitution, which governs the nation, was written by someone who once struggled for the right to drink water from a public well.
The post also noted that PM Modi’s governance style clearly reflects the philosophy of ‘Antyodaya,’ which means reaching development to the last person in society. This idea is directly linked to Baba Saheb’s principles of human dignity and equality. Here, development is viewed not as charity but as a right.
Government schemes have also been aligned with this philosophy. Initiatives like Stand-Up India and the Mudra scheme have provided economic assistance to those previously overlooked by the system. Meanwhile, the ‘BHIM app’ (named after B.R. Ambedkar) has empowered villages with digital financial capabilities. These schemes have not only been announced but have also reached the grassroots level, benefiting Dalits, tribals, women, and the most marginalized members of society.
The post concluded by stating that over time, India has clearly understood ‘Ambedkar’s vision, Modi’s provision.’ This means that Ambedkar’s thoughts and principles are being implemented in contemporary policies, representing a modern interpretation of the economic and social ideas that Baba Saheb presented decades ago.
