
Hyderabad, April 14: The 21st match of IPL 2026 took place on Monday in Hyderabad, featuring Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) against Rajasthan Royals (RR). SRH batted first, scoring an impressive 216 runs. Captain Ishan Kishan played a remarkable innings, scoring 91 runs off 44 balls, including 8 fours and 6 sixes.
During a discussion on Star Sports’ ‘Amul Cricket Live’, expert Sanjay Bangar lauded Kishan’s explosive performance.
Bangar stated, “Ishan Kishan’s approach against Jofra Archer during the first six balls was a true display of class. He confidently moved to the crease, maintaining excellent footwork and reading the line of the ball. As a batsman, you can sense when it’s going to be a special night, and it was clear within the first six to eight balls. Kishan played his shots with remarkable calmness, and it was his aggressive batting that enabled SRH to set a target beyond RR’s reach.”
In the match, after losing the toss, SRH batted first, with Kishan’s 91 leading them to 216 runs. RR’s innings concluded at 159 runs in 19 overs. The debuting fast bowlers, Praful Hinge and Saqib Hussain, played crucial roles in SRH’s victory. Praful took 4 wickets for 34 runs in 4 overs, while Saqib claimed 4 wickets for just 24 runs in 4 overs.
This victory marked SRH’s second win in the season’s fifth match, elevating them to fourth place in the standings. Conversely, this was RR’s first loss in their fifth match, yet they remain at the top of the table.
