
Mumbai, April 14: A tragic incident has unfolded in Mumbai, the financial capital of India. During a live music concert, two students reportedly died after consuming excessive drugs, while a third remains in critical condition. Authorities have arrested five individuals in connection with the case.
According to police reports, a 24-year-old female student and a 28-year-old male student from a well-known MBA college in Mumbai lost their lives. A 25-year-old female student is currently hospitalized in the ICU in serious condition.
On April 11, numerous college students attended a concert held at Nesco Ground in Goregaon. Some attendees allegedly consumed drugs during the event. However, the exact details will become clearer following a forensic report. Around midnight, students were admitted to a nearby trauma center due to breathing difficulties. Unfortunately, two of them succumbed to their conditions during treatment.
A case has been registered at the Vanrai police station. Statements from students who attended the concert have been recorded, providing police with information related to drug use.
As of now, five individuals have been arrested, including two college students. The event organizer, Vihan alias Akash Samal (31), Sunny Vinod Jain from Nesco Event Organizer and Management, and internal security personnel Balakrishnan Balram have also been taken into custody. All accused are currently in police custody for three days.
The Vanrai police have indicated that initial investigations suggest a possible drug overdose. However, the true cause of death will only be determined after medical and forensic reports are released. Blood samples from the deceased have been sent for testing, and a case of involuntary manslaughter has been filed.
