New Delhi, April 14: India is renowned for its diverse culture, and each region offers a unique blend of traditions, cuisine, and languages. The architectural style of South Indian temples is particularly distinctive, with their walls echoing history. Now, the experience of visiting South Indian temples is available in Bihar.
The construction of the Shri Balaji Narasimha Temple in Bhojpur, Bihar, has been completed, and it opened its doors to the public on April 12. Since the inauguration, devotees have flocked to the temple, which is modeled after the famous Tirupati Balaji temple. Notably, popular singer Khesari Lal Yadav has shared images of the temple, fueling interest among the public.
This temple, built at a cost of approximately 10-11 crores, took around ten months to complete. It showcases the architectural style of South India, contributing to its growing popularity in Bihar. The temple walls feature intricate carvings of various deities and are adorned with vibrant colors.
The main entrance and the gopuram (tower) of the temple are impressively designed. The entrance boasts large statues of Garuda and Hanuman, while the gopuram is decorated with representations of the Sun God and several smaller shrines. The temple aims to replicate Baikunth Dham, where Lord Balaji Narasimha is said to rest.
A remarkable aspect of the temple is the main idol, crafted from Krishna Shila stone. This idol was sculpted by the same artisan who created the idol of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya. The remaining idols were also crafted by this skilled artisan, while the construction of the sanctum was entrusted to craftsmen from Mahabalipuram near Chennai.
