
Hyderabad, April 14: The 21st match of IPL 2026 took place on Monday between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Hyderabad. SRH batted first, scoring an impressive 216 runs. Captain Ishan Kishan played a remarkable innings, scoring 91 runs off 44 balls, featuring 8 fours and 6 sixes.
During a discussion on Star Sports’ ‘Amul Cricket Live’, expert Sanjay Bangar praised Kishan’s explosive performance.
Bangar stated, “The way Ishan Kishan batted against Jofra Archer in the first six balls was a true display of class. He confidently moved to the crease, maintaining excellent footwork and reading the line of the ball perfectly. As a batsman, you can sense when itβs going to be a special night, and it was evident in those first six to eight balls. Kishan played his shots with remarkable calmness, and his aggressive batting was crucial in setting a score that was out of reach for RR.”
In terms of the match, SRH, after losing the toss, batted first and set a target of 216 runs, thanks to Kishan’s 91 runs. RR’s innings collapsed at 159 runs in 19 overs. The debuting fast bowlers, Praful Hinge and Saqib Hussain, played a significant role in SRH’s victory. Praful took 4 wickets for 34 runs in 4 overs, while Saqib also claimed 4 wickets, conceding just 24 runs in his 4 overs.
This win marked SRH’s second victory in the season’s fifth match, elevating them to fourth place in the points table. Conversely, this was RR’s first loss in their fifth match of the season, yet they remain at the top of the standings.
