Bihars Baikunth Dham: A New Temple Dedicated to Lord Vishnu

New Delhi, April 14: India is renowned for its diverse cultures and traditions. No matter where you go in the country, you will witness variations in culture, cuisine, and language.

The unique architectural style of South Indian temples is a testament to history. Now, devotees can experience the beauty of South Indian temple architecture in Bihar.

The construction of the Shri Balaji Narasimha Temple in Bhojpur, Bihar, has been completed, and it opened to the public on April 12. Since its inauguration, devotees have been flocking to the temple, which is modeled after the famous Tirupati Balaji temple. Notably, Khesari Lal Yadav has shared images of the temple. Today, we will delve deeper into the temple’s details.

The temple, built at a cost of ₹10-11 crores, took about ten months to complete. It has been constructed in the South Indian architectural style, contributing to its popularity in Bihar. The temple walls feature intricate carvings of deities, adorned with vibrant colors.

The temple’s main entrance and gopuram (tower) are impressively designed. The entrance showcases large statues of Garuda and Hanuman, while the gopuram features representations of the Sun God and several smaller shrines. The temple aims to replicate Baikunth Dham, where Lord Balaji Narasimha is believed to be resting.

Significantly, the idol in the main sanctum is crafted from Krishna Shila stone, created by the same sculptor who fashioned the idol of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya. Other idols in the temple were also sculpted by him, while the sanctum was constructed by artisans from Mahabalipuram near Chennai.
