Mumbai, 29 August (Kiran News). Maratha agitation leader Manoj Jarange Patil began an indefinite hunger strike at Azad Maidan in Mumbai on Friday morning. Manoj Jarange’s convoy arrived in Mumbai on Friday morning. He reached Azad Maidan at around 10 am. Before starting the hunger strike, he addressed Maratha protestors and said, “Earlier, the government did not cooperate or listen to us. That is why I came to Mumbai. But now, the government has shown cooperation and granted permission. The indefinite hunger strike began at 10 am. Do not create chaos; I am here to seek justice for the Maratha community. Think of how our community can progress by taking advantage of unity.”

Jarange further stated that they would not leave Mumbai until all demands are fulfilled. He said, “I request the Chief Minister to accept all our demands. This is an opportunity to win the hearts of Marathas. Do not take the community’s wave of discontent upon yourself. We only want reservation. Even if you shoot me now, I will not back down. I will continue my hunger strike and die here at this place.”
