Kolkata, April 29: Voting is underway for 142 assembly seats in the second phase of the West Bengal elections, starting at 7 AM. BJP candidates arrived early to cast their votes in various constituencies. Among them, BJP candidate Rupa Ganguly stated that no matter how much the TMC tries to manipulate the situation, they will not succeed.
Rupa Ganguly, contesting from the Sonarpur South constituency, visited Rajendra Shiksha Sadan Girls High School to cast her vote. After voting, she remarked, “This time, everyone has come early. This election is going to be very significant. No matter how many games the TMC tries to play, they will not succeed.”
In an interview, Rupa Ganguly emphasized, “I just want to say that everyone should cast their own vote and not allow anyone else to vote on their behalf. Please check your serial number. Go inside, observe everything carefully, and vote responsibly. Ensure that all rules are followed properly.”
Meanwhile, Swapan Dasgupta, the BJP candidate from the Rashbehari constituency, visited Basanti Devi College to cast his vote. He noted that security arrangements were excellent and that the voting process was running smoothly.
Swapan Dasgupta commented, “In the first phase, we observed two key points: record voter turnout and no deaths or major incidents. Overall, incidents of violence were minimal. We hope for the same in the second phase, which could set a record in the West Bengal elections. If the elections conclude without any deaths, murders, or political violence, it will mark the beginning of a new era.”
Debashish Mukherjee, BJP candidate from the Chanditala constituency, also cast his vote early in the morning. He visited booth 269 with his family and encouraged voters to cast their votes promptly. He mentioned that the situation was currently stable, although minor issues with the EVMs caused slight delays in the voting process.
