New Delhi, April 29: An exhilarating match unfolded on Tuesday evening at the New PCA Stadium in Mohali, where the Rajasthan Royals (RR) faced off against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the Indian Premier League 2026. RR showcased an outstanding performance, defeating PBKS on their home ground. This marked Punjab’s first loss of the season.

Chasing a target of 223 runs set by PBKS, RR achieved victory by scoring 228 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in just 19.2 overs. Following the PBKS-RR match, there has been a change in the holder of the Orange Cap. It has returned to the explosive 15-year-old opener Vaibhav Survashni of RR. He scored 43 runs off just 16 balls against Punjab, bringing his total to 400 runs in 9 matches, including 37 sixes and 34 fours.

The Purple Cap is currently held by RCB’s experienced fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who has taken 14 wickets in 8 matches.
