Leaders Pay Tribute to Bhupen Hazarika on His Birth Anniversary, Celebrating His Message of Humanity

New Delhi, September 8 (Daily Kiran) : Tributes poured in from leaders across India on September 8, as they commemorated the birth anniversary of the legendary musician, singer, and songwriter, Dr. Bhupen Hazarika, who was honored with the Bharat Ratna. Prominent figures, including Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, took to social media to reflect on his immense contributions.

Om Birla expressed his respect on X, stating, “On the birth anniversary of the Bharat Ratna awardee and great musician, singer, and songwriter Dr. Bhupen Hazarika, I pay my respects. His songs resonate with the emotions of the common people, their aspirations, a deep connection to nature, and human values. Through his creativity, he brought Assam’s rich folk culture and the voice of Northeast India to the forefront.”

He further noted, “His multifaceted talent enriched Indian music and cinema, giving Assam’s cultural identity a new recognition on both national and international stages. His timeless creations continue to convey messages of empathy, harmony, and humanity.”

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari also paid tribute, stating, “On the birth anniversary of the renowned singer and musician Bharat Ratna Bhupen Hazarika, I bow in respect.”

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath remarked, “On the birth anniversary of the indelible mark of India’s cultural consciousness, the great singer, songwriter, and musician Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhupen Hazarika, I offer my humble tribute. Through his melodious voice and extraordinary music, he showcased the rich culture of the Northeast, connecting every individual with the diversity of our nation. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav added, “I respectfully honor the birth anniversary of the musician and singer, Bharat Ratna Bhupen Hazarika. He brought nature and human emotions to life through his words and music, delighting fans with his creations. His contributions to the music world will always be remembered.”

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma echoed similar sentiments, saying, “On the birth anniversary of the great musician and Bharat Ratna awardee, I offer my heartfelt respects. Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Premchand Baidwa also honored him, stating, “On the birth anniversary of the great musician and Bharat Ratna awardee Dr. Bhupen Hazarika, who enriched our cultural heritage and music world with his invaluable contributions, I pay my respects.”

Bihar Government Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha remembered him, saying, “On the birth anniversary of the unmatched king of music, renowned lyricist, Padma Bhushan, and Bharat Ratna Bhupen Hazarika, I bow in reverence.”
