Rocket Attack in Balochistan Leaves Two Dead, 12-Year-Old Boy Abducted

Quetta, September 29 (Daily Kiran) : A violent incident in Pakistan’s Balochistan province has left two people dead, including a woman, and a 12-year-old boy has been reported missing following a rocket launcher attack on a home. The attack occurred in the Buleda area of Kech district, where armed assailants fired rockets and opened fire on the residence.

According to the Human Rights Council of Balochistan (HRCB), the assault targeted a house in the Alandur neighborhood. The victims have been identified as Sardar Yahya and Aisha, while two others, Shayhak and Shah, sustained injuries. The attackers also inflicted significant damage to the property, destroying household items and vehicles before abducting the boy, Brahmdagh, as they fled the scene.

The HRCB has expressed grave concern over the incident, emphasizing the need for Brahmdagh’s immediate and safe return to his family. The whereabouts of the boy remain unknown, raising alarm among his family members regarding his safety.

The organization highlighted the deteriorating security situation for civilians in Kech, particularly following the murder of a woman and the alleged kidnapping of a child, which have raised serious human rights issues. HRCB called for urgent attention to the attacks on civilians and the rising incidents of violence against women and children.

Just a day before this incident, the Baloch Women Forum (BWF) reported that 25-year-old Hani Baloch and her minor daughter Aisha Baloch were forcibly taken from their home in Kech district by Pakistani security forces and state-backed death squads on the night of September 27. Since then, their whereabouts have been unknown.

The BWF accused authorities of creating an environment of fear and control over the Baloch population through enforced disappearances and intimidation. They alleged that many of those forcibly disappeared are coerced into making statements on camera or under pressure, attempting to obscure the reality of forced disappearances while families continue to search for their loved ones. There has been no immediate response from Pakistani security forces or the government regarding these allegations.
