
Mumbai, September 8 (Daily Kiran) : The India U-19 cricket team has made key changes ahead of its upcoming series against Australia. Aryan Savsani from Saurashtra and Tanmay Baloda from Haryana have been selected to replace Rohit Yadav. Savsani will take Rohit’s spot in the one-day format, while Baloda will step in for him in the Test squad.
Rohit Yadav was initially included in the team for both the one-day and multi-day tournaments against Australia. However, he has been removed from the lineup due to discrepancies related to his age documentation. Investigations revealed significant errors in his birth records, leading to his disqualification from participating in all formats of the game.
The series will feature three one-day matches scheduled for September 18, 21, and 23. Additionally, two four-day matches will take place from September 27 to 30 and October 5 to 8. Most matches will be held in Rajkot, except for the second four-day match, which will be played in Ahmedabad.
The one-day team will be led by Uttarakhand’s batsman, Lakshya Raichandani, with Madhya Pradesh‘s Yashvardhan Chauhan serving as vice-captain. Chauhan will captain the four-day matches, with Raichandani as his deputy.
Notably, Aryavir Sehwag, son of former Indian opener Virender Sehwag, and Anvay Dravid, son of former captain Rahul Dravid, are also part of the U-19 squad for the one-day series.
The one-day squad includes: Lakshya Raichandani (captain), Yashvardhan Chauhan (vice-captain), Rajat Baghel (wicketkeeper), Aryavir Sehwag, V.K. Vineet, Kushagra Ojha, Arjun Rajput, Manal Chauhan, Anvay Dravid (wicketkeeper), V. Yashveer, Shavin Vinod, Mohit Ulva, Chigurupati Venkata, Kavya Patel, and Aryan Savsani.
The four-day team comprises: Yashvardhan Chauhan (captain), Lakshya Raichandani (vice-captain), Sagar Virk, Kushagra Ojha, Manal Chauhan, Kush Patel, Manav Krishna (wicketkeeper), Abhijit Biswas (wicketkeeper), Ishan Om, Ayaan Akram, Pranav Raghavendra, Priyanshu Singh, Mohit Ulva, Aryan Yadav, and Tanmay Baloda.
