Chandigarh, September 29 (Daily Kiran) : Former Punjab BJP president Sunil Jakhar has raised serious allegations against leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), claiming they have unlawfully occupied government residences designated for ministers. During a visit to ministerial accommodations and the Sector 39 circuit house, Jakhar stated that individuals associated with AAP are taking over government properties without permission, displacing legitimate residents.
Jakhar emphasized that instead of relying on social media rumors, he personally inspected the premises to verify who was residing there. He questioned the presence of files related to Cabinet Minister Hardip Singh Mundia’s department at residence number 926, asserting that a minister is obligated to maintain confidentiality regarding government affairs under their constitutional oath.
The BJP leader suggested that these files contained information linked to a ₹10,000 crore scam involving GMADA, raising concerns about how they ended up in a residence reportedly occupied by AAP leader Satyendar Jain. Jakhar described this situation as indicative of an administrative control system being operated from Delhi and expressed confidence that the truth would emerge from an ongoing investigation by the Enforcement Directorate. He also called for Mundia’s resignation.
Targeting AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, Jakhar recalled that the leader had previously positioned himself as a proponent of simplicity and integrity, having declared he would not accept government housing while serving as Chief Minister. However, he alleged that under the AAP government in Punjab, party associates from Delhi have taken over properties reserved for state ministers.
Additionally, Jakhar claimed that Punjab police denied him access to the Sector 39 circuit house, despite having booked a room two days prior. “I am a resident of Punjab and have a legitimate booking, yet I am being denied entry while others without legal rights occupy government properties,” he stated.
He further alleged that AAP associates maintain permanent control over the circuit house rooms, preventing government officials, political leaders, and journalists from Punjab from securing accommodations. Jakhar criticized the ministers, claiming they are merely titular figures, with their identities obscured, even to the extent of nameplates being removed from their official residences.
