Azad Samaj Party Launches Power Change Journey to Engage with the Public

Lucknow, May 30: Chandrashekhar Azad, the National President of the Azad Samaj Party (Kanshiram) and Member of Parliament, addressed key issues on Saturday regarding the upcoming elections, the opposition’s stance, panchayat elections, and the party’s political vision. He emphasized that his party believes in democratic values and is ready to collaborate with all political and social forces that respect their issues and participatory politics.

Azad pointed out that there is currently no strong and genuine opposition visible in the country. Most political parties are engaged in a competition for power, and claims of opposition unity are not evident on the ground.

He referenced elections in various states, including Delhi, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Haryana, where opposition parties have contested against each other in several locations. This raises legitimate questions about the unity of the opposition alliance. He stated that if opposition parties continue to fight against one another, they will fail to present an effective alternative to the public.

Discussing his party’s preparations for the upcoming elections, Azad noted that the Azad Samaj Party has been actively working on organizational expansion and public outreach since 2022. He mentioned that 2026 marks four years since the party’s formation, during which consistent efforts have been made to strengthen the organization.

Azad revealed that in the 2024 elections, the party contested two seats, winning one and finishing third in the other. According to him, electoral success boosts the morale of party workers, which is why they are now working with increased energy and enthusiasm.

Regarding the panchayat elections, he criticized the state government for being unprepared to conduct them. He claimed that the government was aware that reservations in the three-tier panchayat elections could only be implemented after the formation of the Backward Classes Commission and the completion of its report and review process. Nevertheless, necessary preparations were not made in time.

Azad reiterated that he had previously stated the government was not in a position to hold panchayat elections, and this has now been proven true. He mentioned that his party has completed its grassroots preparations, which is why they plan to engage with the public through the ‘Power Change Journey.’

He explained that the Azad Samaj Party has presented a detailed outline of 33 resolutions to the public. If given the opportunity to come to power, the party has a complete blueprint outlining the areas it will focus on and the policies it will implement. This document provides the public with a clear picture of the party’s vision, priorities, and development outlook.

Speaking on public issues, Azad stated that the people of the state are currently grappling with numerous problems. He accused the government of causing distress due to power outages during the intense heat, while simultaneously increasing electricity rates. He noted that rising unemployment, inflation, and the soaring prices of cooking gas, petrol, and diesel have made life difficult for ordinary citizens. According to him, the public is facing economic and social pressures, and the government is failing to provide effective solutions to their problems.

Azad emphasized that through the ‘Power Change Journey,’ his party aims to reach villages, towns, and cities to listen to the people’s issues and inform them of their political vision. He stated that this journey is not merely a political campaign but an effort to understand the public’s pain and prioritize their issues. The Azad Samaj Party’s goal is to ensure political participation for the marginalized, backward, and weaker sections of society and to amplify their voices regarding their rights.
