Chen Wenqing Addresses International Security Conference in Moscow

Moscow, May 30: Chen Wenqing, a member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Secretary of the Committee for Political and Legal Affairs, participated in the 14th International Conference on Security Issues held in Moscow on May 28. He delivered a keynote speech at the event, which was attended by representatives from 145 countries and international organizations.

In his address, Chen emphasized that the global security initiative proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping calls for unity to address various traditional and non-traditional security threats and challenges. This initiative is increasingly vital in tackling complex global security issues.

Chen stated that China is ready to implement the global security initiative in collaboration with other nations to build a community with a shared future for humanity, aiming for lasting peace and universal security.

He also highlighted the need to safeguard global peace and firmly oppose any form of hegemonism and power politics. This year, China will host significant events, including the informal APEC summit, and hopes that all parties will strengthen coordination to achieve cooperation and mutual benefits.

Additionally, Chen attended a luncheon with heads of BRICS delegations and engaged in bilateral talks with several delegation leaders.
