New Delhi, May 30: The Delhi Police have successfully thwarted a significant terrorist plot aimed at several key locations in the capital. This alleged terrorist module, linked to the ISI and underworld figures, had planned simultaneous attacks on the nights of May 29 and 30.
According to sources, the suspects were in the final stages of executing this conspiracy under the direction of their handlers based in Pakistan. Reports indicate that the accused had been instructed to stay in the Chhatarpur area prior to the attacks.
The locations targeted by this module reportedly included government offices and various security-related establishments. Investigators believe that if these attacks had occurred, they could have resulted in substantial damage and posed a major security challenge.
The investigation has uncovered connections between Pakistan’s intelligence agency, the ISI, underworld operatives from Mumbai, and local individuals. Sources suggest that this network had been in the making for an extended period and was directed by handlers in Pakistan, with assistance from underworld affiliates.
So far, law enforcement has seized weapons, explosives, grenades, a pistol, and cartridges from the arrested suspects. Investigators are also probing the involvement of operatives of Nepalese origin. Additionally, they are trying to determine whether any underworld figures provided the module with supplies, accommodation, and logistical support.
Further investigations are ongoing to identify other operatives involved in this alleged conspiracy and the sources of funding.
